It's something of a recent tradition to celebrate Friday with a smattering of iconic television commercials from the (not too distant) past.
Today's Friday Flashbacks begins with none other than one of Ricardo Montalban's spots for the Chrysler Cordoba. My how we love a man who can appreciate soft Corinthian leather...
Next up, we turn to another K-Tel gem. This one is especially memorable because growing up my older sister would play this thing over and over, always making sure to scream the words to 10CC's "The Things We Do for Love." One day my brother and I finally snapped. While he held her down I cut off 3/4 of her hair. We did it for love.
Anybody for an Oly? As the commercial properly notes, "It's the water in Tumwater that makes a great beer!"
This wonderful commercial from Braniff, created in 1975, makes loads of laugh out loud predictions concerning airline travel in the near future. Among my favorite predictions "Robot porters clear your luggage for customs automatically," "You'll no longer need a passport," and "There's no more waiting in the supersonic age"
And in a cruel twist designed to infect your brain this weekend, the Ice Bird cometh...
